What is the outcome of 3 IITian’s coming together with entrepreneurial streak? It is a German café with an underlying idea of a place where anyone could walk-in without specific attire and even gets food as per his liking I.e. Zu Tisch. The place opened in M block, GK-1 market is one of the very few places heading to German water’s, the interiors are simple giving a dark ambience in all to comfort you with only strobe lights at a distance.
The menu with major focus on German cuisine also has a few other standard European food and what could be a better start than a French onion soup which is rich, creamy and flavorful accompanied by a great tasting in-house bread and so is Vivaldi con bello a minimalistic salad with option of non-veg.
The next in line were Onion rings, Potato wedges and Mozzarella triangles where onion rings calls for a special mention as they are fried with great finesse which kept the crust crispy and was still juicy inside as it should have been the accompanying drinks Healthy Chatpata and Lemonana are also unusual twist on general drinks making them stand out as clear winners.
The chicken and leek skewer is a fine tasting quick serve if you don’t want to take the high road of long indulgence as most other German food by nature is meaty and time-consuming when it is to be consumed but if you don’t shy away from real food then look no more and go for the lamb shank it is visual as well as gourmet wonder with a perfectly big sized shank cooked in one go served on a heap on mashed potato, the art involved here is cooking it perfectly, keeping it tender and flavorful and it shouldn’t even fall off and it is clean sweep on my charts.
