For a country that planted their first-ever mango tree in 1986, to consistently falling-off for next 8 years, with failed products. To finally selling a spotless pair of Sun Egg brand mangoes being sold for 2500 USD, Japan has come a full circle with mango cultivation. The hard work, precision and perseverance is quite evident here.
Saluting the same spirit is Delhi’s best standalone Japanese family diner En; located at Ambawatta One, Mehrauli, overlooking Qutub Minar. The place is running Mango Mania festival where chef Maramatsu has created a 2-course meal of entrée and dessert with drinks, all laced with mango.
I have always been a fan of Sushi at En and what better combination can an Indian expect, than mango and sushi going together in his mouth, for a burst of flavours. The mango and vegetable rainbow is certainly a fashionable new gamble on the humble sushi, but it seems to be paying off well.
The Festival is on till 1st August 2016. With 6 iterations for the Mango sushi, 3 each in veg as well as non-veg and 3 choices in dessert over a decent amount of 499 INR and 175 INR. It goes as a big yes and a definitive try.
Go man go ! Looks yum and if I were in Delhi , I’d join the aam maza !
