Indian Grill Room commonly regarded as IGR is not a new name to Gurgaon-ites, although the place is only a year old but it has built a certain reputation for itself, by being consistent with good food and competitive pricing for its Buffet only style. Now Mr. Kamal Khattar storms his foot forward with expanding the same place in Al-Fresco mode over A-La-Carte style; the place is gigantic with pools and dark enveloping environment which is apt for this soothing weather.

This section goes by name of Terrace-Bistro &Â Bar and as the name suggests, has a separate dedicated Bar to cater the crowd, the food although mostly same as the one beings served inside which changes every 15 days.

My pallet started with Kozi Porichattu which is slang for fried chicken kerala style, the chicken was well cooked and the spices were well coated with right amount of pungency in them. The Rampuri seekh was a slight miss with less than required amount of marination, it sure could have been improved. The Paneer tikka was a subtle cover eloping the misfired rockets of kawab.

The main course had Chicken Chettinad which was consistent with its super fried spice soaked gravy laden chicken but the bread served to accompany with it in the name of Malabar Parotta was far from the original one, it was not flaky and completely cooked. A standard Malabar parotta is always stir fried over sizzling temperatures for a short span where it is semi cooked placing it as the most Carcinogenic food from the behemoth sized Indian food menu.

The Mutton rogan josh was an instant hit with the subtle gravy and tender cooked mutton: With the help of bread like Laccha paratha it slides down like a charm. The dessert section had something new to offer, a Moong-Dal Jalebi made with a 50-50 ratio between moong-dal and white flour, It imparted a grainy effect and a soothing after-taste which leaves you with no complaint.

A good drink never needs any special time and hence I was greeted with staff recommended Virgin aam panna mojito to end my pallet.

The place holds a reputation amongst people who want to enjoy the buffet although the terrace section holds a party atmosphere everyday. It is suggested to make booking before you head here at (+91)-8010011222 and they are located on the 3rd floor of Suncity business tower (right above Haldiram) in Sector 54, Gurgaon.
