Flavours of Street festival

There’s plethora of restaurant these days but hardly anyone takes a dive to serve the real taste of street ranging from the old delhi chaat to Taka-tak and Chana jor garam and that is exactly what happened at The Ancient Barbeque (T.A.B.) located in Noida sector 63.

The place already carries a mammoth image for serving great budget buffets with a wide array and flavours of street festival was a cherry topping to it. The run up was 9th to 19th of December where live counters of chat were placed right inside the restaurants with the usual grill and dine as a part of it.

On entering the place you are welcomed with a Candy-floss and some Batashe which is a happy depart from the usual sized Amuse-bouche then you have a choice to indulge in starters or the live chat section where I opted for the former and tried the Nazakat-E-Mushroom, Jhinga Nisha, Tilsemi fried potato and and kalmi kawab where the potato was a stark winner amongst all of them with its great sesame seasoning.

Without much wait I headed forward to the live chat section which had number of old Delhi delights that were a great go with the damp cold weather, it included Soya taka-tak, palak, fateh ki chaat, egg keema kulcha and Shakarkand ki chat but the most interesting take was the mutton keema stuffed in egg served with kulcha with its delightful taste.

The main course had great variety but I stuck to dhaba ghost and Yakhni gosht sevian biryani which is a very interesting take on the usual yakhni pulao and changing it with vermicelli instead of rice which creates a totally unique dish which is nowhere to be found beyond this periphery.

From the sweet section Gur ki rasmalai is complete nostalgia kick to a 15 years back span where this delight used to be found on streets at ease but is not to be seen now, with its soft puffs I couldn’t resist myself and had a second go at them.

The total PLF (Pocket loosening factor) for 2 for the festival is 2000 INR a similar festival is under wraps in Gurgaon branch around feb next year, the place can be contacted on (011)33105586 for prior bookings and information.

haha that it is! πŸ™‚ I don’t blame him. Minnesota winters get to -20 sometimes! so 4 degrees is definitely summer! πŸ™‚

Ugh. You have a death wish for sure. But then you should definitely come visit me in small town Minnesota. It’s even colder than the bigger cities because we have tons of wind and barely any tall buildings to act as wind breakers.
